The Interdisciplinary Chronic Disease Collaboration (ICDC) team is made up of motivated researchers who are committed to finding ways to improve the lives of people with non-communicable chronic diseases (hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and chronic kidney disease), through the development and testing of health solutions.

ICDC mission is to improve the health and quality of life for all Canadians living with a noncommunicable chronic disease regardless of their age, ethnicity or gender.

Learn More About Our Research Strategy

Obesity, smoking, physical inactivity and an aging population have contributed to an epidemic of hypertension, diabetes, chronic kidney disease and vascular disease, all of which predispose to fatal or disabling cardiovascular disease such as heart attack and stroke. These non-communicable chronic conditions commonly occur together, and are the leading causes of death and disability worldwide.
